Back on track
Got up at 9:15 this morning and started working. That felt good for a change. I slept pretty well, but I had a lot of weird dreams. Didn't remember the dreams until I was showering around 11am though, so no big deal.
I started another list of things that can be packed. Now that I'm down to 30 days out, it's easier to make decisions on packing kitchen items and all sorts of other stuff. I'm going to pare down to my bare minimums on items -- things that if we end up going with professional movers, i'll want to save out for the drive out to redmond, and have on the other side.

Where was I...
A month before the big move, at least I think today is a month before the big move. We've been so busy that we haven't nailed everything down yet. I want to get everything nailed down by the end of next week so that I can pretend to breathe again.
The weekend was interesting. We made a semi-emergency trip up to NY to redo some stuff in 111 8th and in Newark. Because we didn't know we needed to go until Thursday, and because the last day of school around here was Friday, the kennel we usually board the menagerie at was booked for dogs. Richard decided this would be a good test for how well GBIC is going to do on the road with us. So, I booked a Red Roof Inn room in Secaucus, and we were set to go with that.
Fortunately, Charlie offered to let us stay at his place with his wife and two dogs out on Long Island. I was kind of apprehensive because I know that GBIC does not do well around other dogs, but I was assured that everything would be fine. We didn't leave until after 7pm on Friday, and didn't get to Charlie and Sharon's until almost 3am. Thankfully, they keep the same waking hours that we do, so everyone was still up when we got there.
GBIC hid behind me as she met Coby and Katie, two of the largest golden retrievers I've ever seen in my life. They are SO well behaved and sweet, which left me feeling like a bad puppy mom (which I am, of course, but I hate admiting it). GBIC was shy the first night, but treats were plentiful, and the other two dogs were very used to new dogs coming around. Everything worked out beautifully, and Charlie and Sharon are great and I can honestly say that I was completely relaxed for the first time in months.
Even though things did not go quite as planned with the emergency work that we had to do, and even though we ended up going home Tuesday morning instead of Sunday night, things worked out well.
Today we took the menagerie into the vet's to get them checked out, health certificates, and to get all three of them microchipped. Everyone was well-behaved for that. Here are the stats:
Gbic: 33 pounds, up slightly from the 32.9 pounds she was last year, but she had just eaten and had not gone potty. She also needs her teeth cleaned and scaled, but that can wait until Redmond.
Mayo: 17.2 pounds, down from 18.1 last year. Good boy!
Mustard: 12.2 pounds, down from 13.2 last year. Bad news is that the vet "thought" she heard a heart murmur for Mooseymoose. She had another vet listen and she also "thought" there might be one. We're going to make another appointment in 2 weeks to bring him in and listen to him again. I'm fairly confident that he'll be able to travel, and will probably live a long life regardless.
More later...

Stress and stuff
Lots of big changes on the horizon, and I'm trying to stay sane through them all. We've rented a new storage space, and have begun packing and moving boxes into storage. I've also started ebaying items we've decided to get rid of.
Later on today I need to call the rental office in Redmond and talk to them about the application, availability, and what the next steps are. I cancelled the business line, we need to bring the cable modem into Adelphia and cancel that as well.
